Tree Trimming

We started off the last week of Advent with a tree trimming. The best part of waiting til the last week to put up a Christmas tree is that they are cheap!
One of my favorite Christmas memories is hanging ornaments, they each have a story and it is kind of  like looking through a photo album. They conjurer up found memories of the years and kind thoughts of the loving hands that made/picked out the perfect adornment for your tree.

One of my favorites ornaments in the one PT is hanging.
Each of the children received one of these stained glass ball from Grandma Driver on their first Christmas. The balls are perfect...not breakable and very intriguing.  Prefect for little tree trimmers!

Avery hanging one of our newest additions from Geegee and Papa.
We each got a glass star...Seeing five glass star in the box made my heart swell seeing how in just a few short Christmases our family has grown to a handful!

Hanging with care.

Paul Thomas was just like his Daddy when it comes to tree trimming, he had to survey the tree to find the perfect location for each ornament.

Philip was in charge of filling in the top!

Mary Colette took care of the bottom.

Sweetness

Finding these two snuggled in bed together is the sweetest thing.
Noticing that they are both sleeping in the same position confirms it. These two are so similar in disposition. She adores him and he her. In fact Mary Colette ranks #1 on the cuddle list.

"Daddy, can I have an apple?  I know I am only 5 months old and have no teeth, but I really really want one!" Small shoulder shrug with fluttery eyelashes.

"Sure sweetheart! Whatever you want"

Works every time.

I will fit this apple into my mouth!

Finally!

I have wanted to post these for a while and I am finally get to it.
These were taken the first week we had our new place. We were not moved in yet because Philip and Dad were scraping off the popcorn ceiling that had been sprayed over with even heavier texture and just had to go. Philip re-did the ceilings with a nice, light, clean texture...but the mess they made was pretty incredible.

Can't wait for everyone to come and visit our new fire home (that is, the place where the fire fighters and fire trucks live)!

oh how I love this girl!

This beautiful little lady has always been the definition of sweetness. She is the first to give hugs, a hand or a vote of confidence.
Of all the cousins she is the one my boys learned to call first.
She adores all and always has time to give.
This picture show her sweetness so well...Maher needing a little encouragement is helped to his desired destination, the big boys, by the tender lead of Isabelle.

How to fold a baby

Here is your guide on how to properly fold a baby.
Start with a baby and changing table.

Remove clothes and diaper and watch legs immediately spring up.

Legs are pulled closer by a strong desire to explore toes.

A little encouragement goes along way and a smile help the process.

Success!

Talk about putting your foot in your mouth!

Now you have a perfectly folded baby, just like your mother used to do it.

I found something new the other day!

I can "clap" them together!

Do you know what they are?

My toes!
Stay tuned to see what else I can do with them.

Babies holding Babies

Here is where I would like to point out how crazy strong those Blaxton genes are.
My siblings and I, as babies looked like sweet Mariella whereas Philip and his siblings favored Mary Colette. Now in a battle of fair skin, fair to no hair verse dark skin, dark and tons of hair who do you think would come out on top?

Have you looked at my kiddos?!

Requested

Paul Thomas requested a picture with Mary Colette cuddling on his bed.
Who was I to say no.

Just like...

After Avery nursed his "Mary Colette" he put her to bed.
A lot of days we find his "Mary Colette" tucked in various places taking a little nap.

One more....

Move that is.

This past weekend we spent loading a truck for what we hope is the last time, for a while.
A while defined as at least five years.

The boys reunited with some of theirs toys while we packed "Daddy's big truck."

And when we needed extra hands we called in the furniture moving brothers.

We are slowly settling into our new home.
We are filled with joy and extreme gratitude to be able to move into a house.
Thank you Mom and Dad (TX and MI) for all the help, advice and encouragement to getting us here.
We love you all!

Good bye

He is "Paul Paul" no more.
Very clearly he is Paul Thomas.
All too soon they grow.

Giant Paper-Mache Liturgical Puppets of Doom

Who will ever take Catholics seriously when the Giant Paper-Mache Liturgical Puppets of Doom are coming to get us? This is about 10 min long and you'll want to watch the whole thing. Trust me.

This is supposed to be the Church in the modern world. In the words of Seth and Amy of SNL fame, "Really!?!"

How many men struggling with the myriads of false gods will decided to commit themselves to Christ and his Church after seeing such profound stupidity? How many pubescent high schoolers will choose to spend their time with these numskulls over the equally mindless but far more entertaining media options available to them?

My charity is being spread too thin.
