Easter Preparations

Dying Eggs!

I wasn't going to tackle this festive feat, but with Uncle Stephen around fun things just happen.

Additional helping hands, Uncle Tim and Miss Jessica.

All of PT"s eggs were colored blue. No reason to branch out to other colors: when you've found a winner stick with it.

Avery on the other hand was our green guy.
The boys color choice might have something to do with the fact that I tend to put them in those colors.

Everyone had a good time and we learned that even if an entire cup of green dye gets spilled on the counter all-purpose cleaner will remove all traces of it.

Thanks Uncle Stephen for the fun activity.

The Decline and Fall of...

There have been multiple pieces in the last few weeks about "the decline of America," each of which focus solely on economic factors such as government debt, growth of the economy and the value of currency. This, however, is a slightly different perspective which is much more insightful and frightening.

A Few Things You Should Know

While not necessarily helpful or even relevant for this Holy Saturday, if you have some time check out this article that debunks 4 popular crusade myths.

We Need More of These Attitudes

I think we all need to take this approach to the faith. If we were all a little more joyful about our faith and realistic about our faults there would be a lot less silliness within the Church. Our Jewish-Catholic brethren are the perfect antidote to many of the problems most of us only complain about.

Grab Some Tissues

I should not have read this at work.

Maybe I'm just excited about all the new babies coming these next few months, but this piece hit home the beauty of life and the Body of Christ.

Siblings

As I headed down the hallway with a stack of folded laundry I heard some little voices. Like any dutiful blogging mama I quickly dropped my load and found the video camera, hid around the corner and began to record only to get the tail end of the game and then the negotiation process for a new game before I was caught!

I asked the boys to show me their game. Germ sharing got the best of them!

Who wouldn't want to add another to the mix?!
After all siblings are even better than best friends! You never have to ask permission for a sleep over!

Free Entertainment

This is about as free as you can get when entertaining your little ones!
No one was injured during the making of this video.
Warning: Excited, little voice may cause permanent damage to ear drums. Please turn volume down!

Pants and Skirts

I know, I know. You are thinking, "who does this guy think he is posting about feminine clothing?"

Please just take a look at this piece and let me know what you think.

I wish I could make anti-communist statements simply by making some changes in my wardrobe!

A new direction

With this new little one I think I am heading in new direction in parenting or at least diapering. I am all but settled on giving clothe diapering a fair shake.  I would love to hear from anyone who has or is currently clothe diapering especially if your little ones are on the chunky side. I have read tons of different reviews and have discovered that different types (AIO, AI2, prefolds and hybrids just to name a few) and different brands (Fuzzibunz, GroVia, bumGenius and Happy Heinys for a taste of whats out there) fit kiddos differently.  So any mommies out there with well endowed thigh babies I would really appreciate hearing from you.

What made me consider clothe diapers? Well, I have always admired those who do them, but always felt too overwhelmed to get into them. They are also expensive to get into initially until bumGenius came out with there Econobum which really sparked my interest. For $100 we can get a good supply, that's like a month and half of newborn disposable diapers! So the savings is what is driving this new adventure, but other aspects such as being less wasteful and gentler on the bottom is definitely adding fuel to the fire.

The two types of diapers that are most appealing to me are the GroVia AI2

and the Econobum prefolds.

Any additional thoughts on these two types of systems are more than welcomed.
