Growing Memories

As many of you know, I married the most wonderful man; his only down fall is that he is from Michigan. No, I am not against Yankees completely. It really has to do with the fact that we will always be far from one family or the other. (Remember when praying for your future spouse, be specific about their location!) Well, right now we are far from the boys' Geegee and Papa, however they are always close in our hearts. Both boys remember them faithfully in their nightly prayers as I am sure they remember the boys. Geegee and Papa are always good about creative ways to stay in touch with the boys. Our latest adventure takes us outside and teaches the boys a little patience and careful up-keep.

The boys received flower seeds in the mail to plant some memories.

Two packs of seeds = two shovels.

First fill the pots with dirt.

Break up the big chunks.

Planting sunflowers. 

Easy does it.

We are looking forward to showing how well we have tended our little seeds. We want to surprise you when you get here. Some are growing at the same rate we are!

Easter Egg Hunt and Dump

Because my boys have one super cool Momma (Father Tony's opinion) they did not go frolicking in fields of daisies, gingerly pucking up golden eggs and placing them in ribbon trimmed baskets. No instead they pushed around Tonka Tuff dump trucks to gather their cargo and dump and a central dumping ground in the backyard.

I am in love with Etsy, a site that is everything homemade. I found these little saint dolls (Avery has St. Robert) from a catholic homeschooling mom of eight.

Not only were their eggs to be found, but some prehistoric animals made their way into the backyard.

It's hard work loading up a dump truck.

Anytime Avery came across two eggs at a time he promptly put one in his truck and one in "Paul Paul's".

We have been hunting and dumping eggs a lot since Easter Sunday!

In order to buy some egg hiding time we took the boys out front for a photo shoot while the big kids hide eggs.

Here is the result of overly groofy boys.

Oh, the fish outfits were a garage sale find/steal. PT's still had the tags on which had $46 on it I paid $4!

I asked Avery to lean out a little bit to get both boys, well at least he listened.

This was all we could handle with the anticipation of Easter eggs in the back yard.
