Please Remember:

Please remember our trips and adventures. Remember, oh please remember seeing the ocean for the first time. Remember, cool nights in Michigan and your first smoore! Remember Fruncle Matty's ordination and Uncle Tim and Aunt Jessica's wedding. Remember the birthday bashes and silly times with cousins. Remember all the "bigs" in your life; first time riding a bike, that special birthday, first time camping, you know, all the big stuff. Remember, please oh please remember some of the more calm times too, the ones where we do not have to travel to enjoy one another. Remember last night! Remember the beautiful meal we had...the abundance of mashed potatoes for you, Avery. Remember how you said you loved going over to Gia and Poppy's on Sunday's because that meant Poppy would get you something special to drink. Remember how sweet Sunday's are with your dessert. Remember how you set up a game of baseball between yourselves and just enjoyed the evening. Nothing fancy, nothing planned just us, a family relaxing and being together. Remember these moments too. Remember hitting the ball, cheering on one another and running faster and jumping further and laughing and getting over hurts and frustrations because really its more fun on the field than off. Remember how much fun we have with each other and remember how much you are part of us.

Manic Monday

This was on day four of Life on the Outside.
Prefect.
I love how a new baby brings everyone together and how we all just want to sit and enjoy each moment.

Manic Monday

George has taken it up himself to claim the recently vacant balance bike, even though he is too short to sit on the seat.

Paul Thomas you are amazing!

Friday Photo Favorites

So this is what is meant by Racoon Eyes.
In all fairness it is difficult to put mascara on in the dark with no mirror all while you are suppose to be sleeping.

Imagination

Is there anything so indicative of childhood as imagination? With fondness I can still recall my most beloved childhood game with my sister, "Cowboys and Princesses" because well, we live in Texas after all and our swingset was the perfect stagecoach.

The other day the three oldest were playing and Mary Colette declared she could fly. The boys were not convinced which of course meant she must show them.

Back and forth, back and forth she ran jumping or rather flying into the air.

She knew she was flying and nothing the boys said could make it untrue, she flew.

(Both boys also went through this exact stage and somehow I missed the charm of it the first two times.)

A few days later, again, the three were playing and all being different characters to which Mary Colette declared that she was Mary Poppins. All agreed then she ran over to me and whispered concerningly, "I'm just pretending to be Mary Poppins, but I'm really Mary Colette. Don't tell the boys!" After all the imagination is powerful and mere adult might mistake the real Mary Poppins and one just pretending to be her.

"Mary Colette, how did you like confession?"
"Good...well not so good. There were a lot of people staring at me and laughing at me."
"They were laughing at you?!"
Hand on hips:
"Yes, they were laughing at me when I was pretending to be a rock."

Manic Monday

I didn't find this gem until a few weeks later.

(I was mowing the lawn and they were to be quiet so the littles could finish up their naps.)
