Another Quick Trip.

This time it was GeeGee that came to visit us! At the end of August GeeGee made the drive down with Uncle Tim and spent the weekend with us. It was a quick visit, so we packed in the fun and headed to the Dallas Arboretum for the last of the dollar days.

Checking out the goldfish.

Three generations.

Window watching.

What do you see up there?

Avery thoroughly enjoyed the covered wagon.

Guess who had to chase who out?

Eeekkk, don't let the plants touch me GeeGee.

Thanks GeeGee for the visit!
We cherish every moment with you!

To lighten up

When it rains...

it pours!
Just usually, not in your living room.

Disclaimer time: Our house is a wreck because...
1: We are washing every article of clothing either to be sorted back into bins or into dresser drawers for the changing of seasons.
2: We are in the process of packing for a much anticipated visit to Mount St. Mary's!
3: I have been flying solo for a while so that Philip can prepare for comps, which started last night with his first two. The other six are tomorrow, please keep him in your prayers.
4: Lastly, this was after the mad dash to get furniture and items out of the waterfall and lake.
Oh and we didn't go to bed til 12:45 due to upset tummies and bad dreams.

Quick Trip, Long Post

With a Daddy locked away deep in the belly of the library preparing for his comps, the boys and I decided to stretch a 3 hour drive into 4 1/2 and visit Maher and his family on Saturday.

First stop was in West, TX not to be mistaken for West Texas, the region above North Texas.
West is famous for its Czech community and what goes better with the Czechs--besides Polka--than a Kolche?

Enjoying our Koleches!

This stop is more than likely responsible for most of the additional time added to the drive.

We spent most of our visit exploring Maher's new toys. There was a down pour that delayed a park trip, but opened up a chance to run silly in the rain and then check out Maher's bath toys.

After the rain, bath and snack we headed to a new park.
A Dino Park!

Photo Op!
Three boys on Dino head.
Maher was not too impressed.

Maher is still in his "are you sure about this" stage.

Or maybe he is the only one that realized how creepy this really is.

PT is Rock'en the 'Saurus

There we go! All three smiling!

What goes well with Dinosaur bones is Dino Dig.

Instead of playground there was a huge sandbox with dinosaur bones, shovels and three diggers.

Avery had a blast moving sand from here to there.

I give you Sand!

Oh, you've seen it before.

And now stay tuned for a closed captioning episode of PT and the Dump Truck.

Brrrrommm
(Notice the motor noise that only males can make)

Eeerrrrrr
(Turn sound)

Beeep Beeep

Total tongue concentration..

Czkkkpbpbpbpbsshhhhh!
(The sound of a trash truck banging the dumpster)

Maher teases us with an almost-step.

Maher was just about to try it then spotted the camera and quickly squatted and turned.

Too cute, Maher!

We had a great day trip and hope to make the most of our close proximity to these guys!
Thanks for sharing the day with us!
