Conversations with a Two year old

Last night I was busy making a double batch of macaroni and cheese (to sustain my hubby while we are gone), emptying the dishwasher and entertaining a 9 month old, when something went missing. (That happens more often than it should in a 900 square foot apartment!) I had just finish dividing up the casserole between five dishes, thinking to myself how productive I was being. Now into the freezer, which meant that the current resident had to be evicted. The 12 pound turkey had to find a new home in the fridge to defrost, the casseroles to take his place. In the time it took to arrange five casserole and console one little one I completely forgot about the bird waiting patiently to see his new home. With a new spoon and new found energy to bang, Avery was content and the mess from the mac n cheese was to be addressed next. That is when I realized I forgot to put the turkey in the fridge. Ummm...okay he is without a head and completely frozen so he didn't walk away.

"Paul Thomas, Paul Thomas"

"Heeey Maaaama"

"Paul Thomas, where is the Turkey"

"Kerkey"

"Yes, where is the Turkey?"

"Kerkey"

"Paul Thomas, where did you put the Turkey?"

"KerKey" and then crazy circles and sounds, which resembled a turkey with his head cut off.

Frustration mounting.

"PAUL THOMAS WHERE IS THE TURKEY"

At this point I stop to realize how funny this must sound.

I found it...under the high chair in the corner, still headless and frozen.

My big Turkey, taking a self portrait.

Lost and found: amoung other things, the bottom rack of the dishwasher found under the couch, cell phone in the lincoln log bin, ring in the grating under the fire place, lots and lots of coins in the door hinge.

Baby Maher

Paul Thomas has been infatuated with his newest little cousin, Baby Maher. In PT's world Baby Maher is perpetually going night-night and is always, always mentioned with his mother, Aunt May May. (I think for clarity sake. He wants all to know Baby Maher is his cousin and therefore will not be give up any thing to make room for the little guy.)

We got to visit Baby Maher a few weeks ago and PT was delight to spend time with his cousin. He was very gentle and intrigued by the smallness of Maher.

Teaching him how to make the car noise.
Maher is already well loved and adored by his cousin.

Swiped

It appears we are raising a couple of thieves.

The same day a pear went missing,

so did a sippy cup.

Dino-Bee

This year we captured a PTasourus and an Avery-Bee, both extremely rare.

A closer look of the Avery-Bee.
A lot of buzz, no sting.

Checking the loot.

Getting into the loot.

Some Characters along the way.

PT trying to increase his candy quota by teaching Avery to say, "Trick or Treat."

Umm, Dino are you going to eat all of that?

Ohhh, you are...

This is how Avery spent the night. Yes, I suppose for those who are not allowed to eat regular food, let alone candy, trick or treating is no treat.

On the other hand it was a bit tricky!

Splash

The end of summer was greeted this year with a mighty splash! We, along with a lot of other natural gas buffs, made our way to a family water park. Being our first time, we took the required obnoxious amount of pictures. So grab your pina colada and enjoy our day at the water park.

We met up with the usual crowd there. Luci is so grown up splashing with the big kids.

After the spray ground we headed for the wave pool. Reminds me of the vacations at Galveston just without the jellyfish and salty, brown water.

This is how a two-year old floats in the wave pool!

Dodging waves.

Avery pondering how to catch the water.

Ohhh Daniel you are cute even when you don't want to be.

Avery never misses an opportunity to work out!
Hoorah!

Yikes! Alligators!

Look at that happy chunk!

These two had a blast running in and out of the wade pool.

Lazy River.

One last time around, everyone pile on!
Time for my favorite sequences.

Tada!
Stay tuned for the most thrilling aspect of the day...the water slides!
