One more Oh Avery

While swinging at one of the most amazing parks, "Gia, all of these swings make different animal sounds! This one sounds like a whale!"

It was one of the most in need of oil swings, I've ever heard.

Oh Avery again

When discussing dozen and half dozen Avery piped up "Hey maybe we can have six more babies, then we'll have a dozen kids." With more mixed emotions than even before I said we would just have to see what God desires for us and that I'm not sure it would be a dozen Blaxton Babies. "Well, we could adopt six so it's not so painful for you."

Oh Avery

Fruncle Matty asked how Avery liked his new house and his reply was not much. Why?

"Well, Fruncle Matty, I'm just a country boy."

"Can our next house please be in the country!" Asked with such sincere longing the other day randomly. Yup, we'll work on that buddy!

When at Gia and Poppy's, where's Avery?
6:00am in the coop with the chicks
7:00am in the run with the chicks
8:00am back at the coop looking for eggs
9:00am shoveling in breakfast so he can get outside
Every time someone asked where's Avery the answer is always outside at the barn.

Overheard one evening in the barn Avery singing Sing of Mary, then he said, "Okay Girls, just one more" and began the Hail Mary. (We have very catholic chickens.)

Avery enthusiastically applauded Eleanor's attempt at crawling and then looked at me with big round puppy eyes and said tenderly, "I don't want Ellie to grow up." I could tell he was wrestling with those big crazy emotions that parents wrestle with all the time. The excitement of an accomplished milestone and the sad realization that that part of life is lived.

Avery picked out a toy bow and arrow set for his birthday and after playing with it he let Mary Colette have a turn. She fumbled a bit and got discouraged, "Mary Colette let me show you what you did." He took it and shot just fine, "Well, when your a master it's hard to mess up on purpose."

Our Christmas Letter

I had high hopes of Christmas cards and letters going out this year, in fact the table was all set up with the necessary supplies on Epiphany and then, we called the fire dept. I just could figure out how to salvage the project in a hotel room with six blessings all around so here is the best little recap I can do with our phone (trying something new where we share our smart phone and have a old school one for me during the day). There are so many special events missing in this video such as and not limited to Eleanor's baptism and all the beautiful family that came to celebrate. All those pics are on the home computer.

These two have been so stinken cute lately. They are either, mom and dad or seen here as King and Queen. George really plays the part, when he gets out of the car he reaches up to offer his hand to his lady. After she is properly dismounted they carry on hand in hand. Maybe one of theses days I can capture their adorable smitten look as they parade their domain.

On another note this morning as they were mom and dad pirates/bakers I over heard Mom saying, "Don't be afraid, these are exploding muffins!"

Reminds me of the gunpowder popcorn we had.
