Friday Photo Favorites

Way back when...at the beginning of October, we were blest with a wonderful visit from Geegee and Papa!  It was rather cold and dreary here so we spent most of the time indoors. Craving pumpkins was one way we enjoyed each other.

Geegee and Avery checking out the guts!

Mary Colette had no problem digging in!

Or digging in!
Always one to try new things!

Papa lends a helping hand!
(Alleluia!)

I was in charge of Avery's design, a baby sucking his thumb just like him.
Piece of cake cutting out every little finger.

For some reason this year Philip went really easy, just a brachiosaur.

Geegee skillfully handled Mary Colette's Owl.

Approval from my charge.

Paul Thomas got to be a lot more hands on this year.
I will never tire of watching this kid concentrate on a task.

Avery was allowed to be a lumber jack with the scrapes. All were happy with this arrangement.

Only the owl was captured on film, but I assure you all the pumpkins were amazing and delighted everyone.

The was a whole lot of whacking involved with this reveal.

Watch.

Wait.

Cheers to one more brother!

And to being the one and only, for now!

And this is how Philip wanted to announce our news.

Friday Photo Favorites

First Trick-or-treat.
She is dressed as an unkempt princesses.

We were going for the knight saving the princess from the nice dragon. (Avery is not a mean dragon, because that is not nice!)

No obstacle will stand in the way of this princess and her chocolate!

You're doing great!

Well this photo opt didn't work as planned.

A little better.

We missed last year trick-or-treat so it took a few houses to get the swing of things again.

We joined up with some friends.
With just a few families we quickly produced 12 kids.

My little dragon and his moon boots were a little behind the crowd.
This for some reason makes me so proud of him. That he is so assured in himself to do things like this without hesitation, but to also know that when one house was indeed too scary to approach he said with confidence that he would not go to that house.  My little dragon, knows who he is and already has sure footing that many do not developed until they are young adults.

Last Call for Votes!

Thanks again everyone for all your input!

In the Hopper?

I had a serious panic moment the other day when I realized we had
not a single name to be contemplating if our little bundle is a boy. (No we still don't know yet!) So after Mass we dug out all our saint books and started to rattle of names.  Paul Thomas joined in and we explained how all our children have very special saints and family members that share their names. And how this creates a special bond with that person and you can always ask your saint to pray for you.

Well, as we continued our search Paul Thomas got a bit more creative and suggested, wait for it, wait for it, "Bucket Flapper."  It is catchy and after Orange Astronaut why not make the logical jump to Bucket Flapper?!

After a good laugh he told me he was putting it in the hopper, my phrase for "we'll consider it". This one might get lost.

And that is why you don't let a too smart for their own good, big brothers name your precious bundles!

Hobbies!

Our front porch conversation went like this:

Paul Thomas, "What are those thing you like to do again?"

Me, (Mommy skills kicking into over drive trying to remember the last two weeks worth of conversations that this statement might be referring to.) "Oh you mean hobbies?!"

PT, "Oh yeah, hobbies. What's your hobby?"

Me, "I like to take pictures of my kiddos."

PT, "And Papa's hobby is being silly. And what's (fill in the blank as we went down the family tree here.)

Avery, "Giggles" after every response.

PT, "What's my hobby?"

Me, "Well, you like to build train tracks and..."

Avery, "What's my hobby?'

PT, before I could response, "Your hobby is the same as mine" in true dominate big brother fashion!

Avery, "No it's not! My hobby is hugs! I like to give hugs!'

And that is that!
All our hobbies have been settled today on the front porch!

And Avery, you have the best hobby of all!
